North Shore Christian Men’s Choir started as a group of six male vocalist together with Gabe Rossi, the choir’s director. Gabe was asked by the musical coordinator and organist, if he "Could put together a small group of men to sing once a month at the First Congregational Church of Hamilton (FCCH). The "Men’s Choir" at FCCH came into existence and it was not long before more and more men were becoming involved with the choir. Gabe began to get a vision for what God had in mind for this choir. God had given him a vision of becoming a choir of 100 men, all singing and praising God. Over the next 4 or 5 years the choir began to grow. Gabe then saw that this should be bigger than the choir of FCCH and the choir was renamed North Shore Christian Men’s Choir (NSCMC). Dr. Stephen Price got involved and was instrumental at getting men from other churches involved with the choir. Gabe took a trip to England and Wales and it was there that Gabe met with Stephen’s brother who is a member of Male Voice Praise in the UK. The two hit it off and within the year a combined concert of MVP and the NSCMC choir was held at Gordon college. Six weeks later, NSCMC was in Wales. Now after three trips to Wales and several performances in prisons and nursing homes here in Massachusetts the choir is off and running full steam ahead! NSCMC has become a member choir of the international organization, Festivals of Male Voice Praise. We are proud to be the first chapter of FMVP in the United States of America! We have been actively involved with FMVP in Wales for the past 3 years and will continue this tradition during our visit in July of 2004. We have had several joint concerts with British FMVP chapters both here in the USA and in Wales. We are also interested in forming bonds with the FMVP chapters in Canada.
